Thoughtfully designed by the artist to raise awareness for the numerous species at risk across the world's largest freshwater archipelago; Georgian Bay. 
 
Bank & Barn Swallows are at risk across Georgian Bay and surrounding area. 
Although widespread, these species are in steep decline amounting to a loss of 64% and 98% of their Canadian population over the last 40 years.
 
The reasons for these declines are driven by the cumulative effects of several threats including: loss of breeding and foraging habitat, aggregate excavation, and widespread pesticide use.
